Premier League Predictions, Week 4
© Micah Veldkamp, 2021
Welcome back to the weekly predictions, Premier League fans! After a week away from Premier League action, we finally get back to it, though if you've been keeping up with the World Cup qualifiers, you were hardly starved for fútbol content.
In case you can't remember as far back as 2 weeks, last time out I had a very solid day at the office. I missed on my upset pick of Brighton over Everton, but got the results for all four other matches correct, and for the 2nd consecutive week, nailed Liverpool's scoreline dead on. That was enough to get me 4.5/5 on the week, which helped me to a promising 7.5/10 rate heading into the international break.
Now, I promise this is not just me getting lazy and basking in the glory of my uptick in form, but it's been a long week, and the matches are just 8 hours away from kicking back off, so I'm going to keep these predictions to one to two sentences this week. Here are your 5 for Week 4!
Crystal Palace vs. Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham's flawless season continues with a comfortable win over hapless Palace.
The Pick: Tottenham, 2-0
Manchester United vs. Newcastle United
Ronaldo wasn't the missing piece for Manchester United, but he sure doesn't hurt, and getting to debut him against a relegation-threatened side only helps their chances this weekend.
The Pick: Man United, 3-1
Leicester City vs. Manchester City
Leicester are at home, and always seem to trouble Man City, but early returns are that this is not the Leicester of the last two seasons.
The Pick: Man City, 2-1
Chelsea vs. Aston Villa
Villa seem to have found their attacking boots that made them so dangerous last season, but Chelsea's defense-- at Stamford Bridge, no less -- is a whole new ballgame.
The Pick: Chelsea, 3-0
Leeds United vs. Liverpool
A buoyant Elland Road crowd and the likely absence of Liverpool's Brazilian players, crucial in the goal and in midfield, will be enough to lift Leeds to a surprise draw in what could be a thrilling fixture.
The Pick: Draw, 2-2
